Trade Secret Protection

In the highly competitive and innovation-driven pharmaceutical industry, trade secrets represent a cornerstone of sustainable growth and technological leadership. At our company, protecting such confidential information is not only critical to maintaining our competitive advantage but also essential to ensuring regulatory compliance, safeguarding client trust, and preserving long-term business viability. To this end, we have established a comprehensive and systematic trade secret protection framework that integrates organizational governance, clear policies, robust technical measures, and rapid incident response mechanisms.

Organizational Structure

We have established a centralized Intellectual Property Protection Committee (IPPC), which operates under the oversight of the Board of Directors. The committee is chaired by the Chief Legal Officer, with active participation from the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), the Chief Information Officer (CIO), and the Head of Human Resources. Beneath this committee, our organizational structure is divided into functional units:

  • The Legal & Compliance Department: Responsible for policy formulation, contract management (NDAs), and regulatory alignment.
  • The Information Security Office: Oversees technical infrastructure, monitoring systems, and digital access control.
  • The R&D Security Division: Tasked with physical security within laboratories and pilot plants, ensuring that "need-to-know" access is strictly enforced among scientific staff.
  • Regional Security Liaisons: Act as first-responders for specific manufacturing sites to ensure our global operations adhere to uniform protection standards.

Protection Strategies

Physical Security Measures

Sensitive areas such as R&D laboratories, pilot plants, and data archives are secured access control systems, surveillance cameras, and visitor management protocols. Entry is restricted to authorized personnel only. To further strengthen perimeter protection, we deploy 24/7 surveillance systems combined with randomized security patrols to detect and deter unauthorized activities.

Digital and IT Security

We employ advanced cybersecurity technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, data encryption, and endpoint protection. Critical data is stored in secure servers with role-based access control and audit trails. Data transfer is strictly monitored, and external storage devices are controlled or restricted.

Document and Data Management

All confidential documents are clearly labeled and managed through secure document control systems. Electronic data is backed up, and version control ensures traceability. Printing, copying, and external sharing of sensitive documents are tightly regulated.

Process and Knowledge Segmentation

In manufacturing and R&D, we implement segmentation strategies, where critical steps of a process are distributed among different teams or locations. This reduces the likelihood that a single individual or unit possesses complete knowledge of a proprietary process.

Personnel Management

All employees are required to sign confidentiality agreements and, where applicable, intellectual property and non-compete agreements to clearly define their obligations. To reinforce awareness, we conduct regular training programs on trade secret protection, information security, and compliance practices.

Third-Party Risk Management

As a CDMO service provider, we frequently collaborate with clients and external partners. We conduct due diligence on partners, enforce strict contractual confidentiality clauses, and monitor compliance throughout the collaboration lifecycle.

Emergency Handling of Data Breaches

We have established a structured and rapid incident response mechanism to handle potential trade secret leakage.

  • Detection & Immediate Containment: Upon report, we immediately isolate affected systems or physical areas to halt further data leakage.
  • Forensic Investigation: We conduct a swift forensic analysis to determine the scope, source, and nature of the breach while preserving evidence for legal proceedings.
  • Legal & Remediation: We initiate immediate legal action, such as injunctions, to stop information dissemination, while maintaining transparent, proactive communication with any affected clients.
  • Systemic Recovery: We perform a root-cause analysis post-incident to identify vulnerabilities, implementing necessary infrastructure upgrades to ensure the breach cannot recur.

By integrating these robust governance, policy, and response strategies, we ensure that our company remains a fortress for innovation, protecting our own breakthroughs and the invaluable intellectual property of our partners.
