Description: Eletriptan is a triptan that selectively binds at 5-HT1B&1D (Serotonine receptors) as an agonist. This triggers the narrowing of cerebral blood vessels while reducing several inflammatory mediators such as serotonin and substance P. This explains the migratory reducing effect. Eletriptan is therefore approved for headaches and migraines with and without aura.
